Ferdinand | EducationGhana | April 19| “Now I’m Blind Forever” – Adventist SHS Student Speaks After Being Shot by Classmate
In a heartbreaking revelation, Sussie, a student of Adventist Senior High School, has spoken for the first time following the horrifying moment she was accidentally shot by a classmate, an incident that has now left her permanently blind.
Speaking in a tear-filled interview with a Ghanaian content creator, Sussie bravely recounted the chilling events of the day that changed her life forever.
According to her, the tragedy occurred during a mathematics lesson. A male classmate had brought a gûn to school and was recklessly flaunting and playing with it in class. After the teacher exited the classroom, she says, the boy and a group of friends began debating whether the gûn was real.

“I had my head on the desk, not paying them any attention,” Sussie explained. “I heard them murmuring and laughing about the gûn, but I didn’t think much of it.”
Moments later, while still resting her head, she heard the sound of the weapon being cocked. Just as she instinctively raised her head, the trigger was pulled.
The bullet struck her face, leaving her severely injured. The most devastating part: she has now lost her sight permanently.
The story has sparked national outrage, with calls for greater school safety measures and tighter regulation of firearm access among youth.
Sussie’s emotional account has touched thousands across social media, with many expressing sorrow and solidarity under the hashtag #JusticeForSussie.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances, and the student responsible is reportedly in custody. Meanwhile, Ghanaians continue to demand justice and answers.
