Learners Not Expected, but Must Be Attended To
Despite the rescheduling, learners have already been instructed not to report to school today. However, school authorities have been directed to attend to any learners who may still show up, in line with duty-of-care responsibilities.
School heads are expected to ensure supervision and safety for such learners until dismissal.
Implications for Teachers and School Management
Teachers are advised to take note of the new CPD date and adjust their professional schedules accordingly. School leaders are also encouraged to communicate the update clearly to staff and parents to avoid confusion.
The National CPD Day forms part of ongoing efforts to improve teacher quality and instructional effectiveness across the country, in line with national education reforms.
