The Ministry of Education, with support from GETFund, has donated 21 brand new Toyota Land Cruisers to 20 Colleges of Education and TUTAG through GTEC to improve institutional efficiency and staff welfare.The Ministry of Education, with funding support from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), has donated brand new Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles to 20 Colleges of Education across Ghana, through the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).The donation forms part of government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen teacher education and improve working conditions within tertiary institutions.

Handover Ceremony at GTEC

The vehicles were officially handed over at a brief ceremony held at the premises of GTEC on Friday, December 19, 2025.Speaking at the event, the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, stated that the initiative was aimed at promoting efficiency and effectiveness in the administration of Colleges of Education.He added that the intervention also reflects government’s commitment to improving the welfare of teachers and education administrators nationwide.According to the Minister, logistical support remains a critical component in ensuring that educational institutions function smoothly and deliver quality outcomes.

TUTAG Also Benefits

In addition to the Colleges of Education, the Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG) also received a vehicle, bringing the total number of vehicles donated to 21.

Strengthening Teacher Education Delivery

The vehicle donation is expected to enhance supervision, monitoring, outreach activities, and administrative operations within the beneficiary institutions.Stakeholders believe the intervention will contribute positively to the overall quality of teacher education in Ghana.
