Koforidua Technical University SRC enhances classroom comfort by donating 150 ergonomic chairs to improve teaching and learning conditions for students and lecturers.

A Student-Led Initiative for Better Learning

In a proactive move to improve classroom infrastructure and student well-being, the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of Koforidua Technical University (KTU) has donated 150 brand-new ergonomic chairs to selected lecture halls.

The initiative, announced by the SRC President, forms part of a broader student welfare agenda aimed at enhancing learning environments and promoting academic excellence.

 Designed for Comfort and Productivity

The newly installed chairs are not just a replacement—they are ergonomically designed to support long periods of academic activity. By addressing physical discomfort and fatigue, the SRC hopes to:

  • Encourage longer focus spans during lectures
  • Improve lecturer-student interaction
  • Enhance the general appeal and functionality of lecture spaces

This intervention comes amid increasing student enrollment and growing demand for quality infrastructure in Ghana’s technical universities.

Why It Matters

SRC-led development efforts like this are critical in supporting Ghana’s tertiary education reforms, especially in line with the government’s STEM and TVET transformation agenda.

“We are committed to providing comfort and dignity to every student who walks into our lecture halls,” said a spokesperson from the SRC.

The gesture reflects growing student leadership in addressing challenges beyond academics—something Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has consistently encouraged at recent forums.
