The Kofi A. Tawiah Foundation is thrilled to announce the 2nd edition of the Kofi A. Tawiah Good Citizenship Challenge, inviting basic to senior high schools across Ghana to take part in this transformative community service competition. The challenge aims to encourage schools to develop essential character traits, nurture leadership skills, and promote a strong culture of service n communities.
This exciting opportunity encourages students to engage in community service while reflecting on how their projects have positively impacted society and contributed to the development of their own character. Schools that participate will have the chance to win amazing prizes while helping to make meaningful contributions to society.
How to Participate:
To participate in the Kofi A. Tawiah Good Citizenship Challenge 2025, schools must:
- Register by completing a form to express interest.
- Form a team of at least 5 students with staff supervision.
- Design and implement a community service project aimed at positively impacting society.
- Submit a report and supplementary documents (including videos, pictures, and testimonials) detailing the project and its outcomes.
Prizes Up for Grabs:
- Grand Prize: GHC 15,000
- 2nd Place: GHC 10,000
- 3rd Place: GHC 5,000
These cash prizes will reward the winning schools for their exceptional efforts in community service and civic engagement.
Eligibility:
- Open to all basic and senior high schools in Ghana.
- Teams should comprise at least 5 students with staff supervision.
- Word Limit for essays: Between 1,500 – 2,500 words.
- New Projects: Only new community service projects will be accepted. Projects completed before the start of the competition will not be considered.
Submission Deadlines:
- Expression of Interest: by 16th April, 2025
- Final Submission of Essay and Supporting Documents: by 16th July, 2025

Key Project Topic:
The topic for the project is to “Describe a community service initiative led by your team. Discuss the positive outcomes of the initiative and explain how it has influenced your character and dedication to making meaningful contributions to society.”
