EducationGhana, September 29, NLC: The National Labour Commission (NLC) has summoned three Pre-Tertiary Teacher Unions, the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana (CCT-GH).
The NLC in a response to a statement issued by the teacher unions on August 10, 2021, summoned the Unions and directed that the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Unions should iron out all issues being raised by the Unions by November 17, 2021.

Background
Pre-tertiary teacher unions are set to call for industrial action in September ending should the Ghana Education Service (GES) decline their call for a favourable condition of service.
The Teacher Unions, namely the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers – Ghana (CCT-GH) made this announcement in a joint statement on August 10, 2021.

The Unions indicated, said they are serving notice that if by the close of September 2021, all their requests are not resolved in full by the employer, then they will have no option than to advise ourselves in the best interest of our members within the framework of their Collective Agreement and the applicable laws of Ghana.
