JUST IN: JHS 3 Teachers to be excluded from Temporary EC New Voter Registration job

Some District Directorates of the Ghana Education Service (GES) have cautioned their Teachers at the Junior High School 3 to exclude themselves from the forthcoming Electoral Commission New Voter Registration Exercise as Temporary Staff.

According to reports gathered by EducationGhana’s Ellis Ferdinand from some of the Directorates, none of the JHS 3 teachers shall be allowed to take part in the Electoral exercise as Temporary Staff.

It has also been stated that the registration will span 40 days and it falls within the 11 weeks that the JHS 3 students will be in school.

This according to the GES Directorates, is to allow the teachers have enough time with the JHS Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) Candidates as they have few months to write their historic ‘Covid-19 BECE’.

According to reports, all teachers and students will be provided with Nose marks(3 each), Veronica bucket(1 each) for each school and Thermometer gun for each school in each district based on the number of students and Schools in the district.

This means that some schools could get more or lesser than the standard number.

 

The students are expected to be 30 per class, with 4 hours each day (9-1 pm) with 15 minutes break of which  Students will stay in the classroom for the duration of the break

All teachers to be present at school every day to ensure all hands on deck for the best practices on safety protocols towards the covid-19 prevention.

In some Districts, a  district mock exams shall be written .

There shall be No sporting events as well as Religious activities by churches in classroom in all Regions.

Teachers Attendance

In respect to supervision, Teachers attendance must be checked for the duration.

The directorates shall monitor safety protocols each school has put in place for the duration.

The various directorates are to come out with a common timetable.

Discipline

With regards to students discipline, all truant candidates are to be reported to the Directorates.
