 Common BECE Placement Challenges

Some of the most common issues candidates and parents face include:
  • Not being placed automatically in any school.
  • Difficulty accessing the CSSPS portal due to high traffic.
  • Errors in school selection or programme choice.
  • Wrong details (name, index number, gender, etc.) captured in the system.
  • Difficulty with the self-placement module.

 Resolution Centres for BECE Placement

To make the process smooth, the GES has designated Placement Resolution Centres at all District and Regional Education Offices across the country.

1. District and Regional Offices

Every District Education Office and Regional Education Office serves as a placement resolution centre. The officers available to assist include:
  • Public Relations Officer (PRO)
  • Examination Officer
  • Free SHS Coordinator
You do not need to travel to Accra to resolve your placement issues.

2. National Resolution Centre (Accra)

For those in Accra, the National Resolution Centre is located at GNAT Hall. However, most challenges can be resolved at the district or regional level, so only go to Accra if necessary.

Step-by-Step Guide to Resolve BECE Placement Issues

  1. Check Placement Properly: Visit the official CSSPS portal (cssps.gov.gh) to confirm your placement status.
  2. Use Self-Placement (If Needed): If you were not automatically placed, log into the self-placement portal and choose from schools with available slots.
  3. Visit District/Regional Office: If you encounter problems such as wrong details, errors in placement, or technical glitches, go to your nearest District or Regional Education Office for assistance.
  4. Provide Accurate Information: Carry along your BECE index number, placement printout, and relevant documents for quick verification.
  5. Avoid Middlemen or “Connection Men”: All placement services are free of charge. Do not pay anyone promising special favours or guaranteed schools.

 Important Reminders

  • Students are expected to report to school on October 18, 2025.
  • Parents should remain calm as the Ministry works to ensure every qualified student is placed.
  • Placement changes or corrections can only be made through official GES officers at resolution centres.
