Gov’t Won’t Reintroduce Caning In Schools, Students Are Not Animals – Yaw Adutwum

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Deputy Education Minister has indicated that there’s no way the government will reintroduce caning in schools as those days are passed.

According to him, the country has gone passed those old days where teachers cane students like animals.

Indiscipline in Senior High Schools has been alarming lately as some final year students protest because teachers did not allow them to cheat during the examination.

The President, Nana Akufo-Addo as a result of the demonstration received insults from the students, and some properties were also destroyed.

He indicated that they will rather praise the kids for their good behaviour and not reintroduce caning because of few one’s behaviour.
