Gov’t to procure 280,000 laptops for members of 3 Teacher Unions

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, says the government is facilitating the procurement of 280,000 laptops for members of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT-GH).

The president said the distribution of laptops forms part of efforts to make digitization in the education sector a reality.

Speaking at the State of Nation Address on Tuesday, March 9th, President Akufo-Addo stated that a key objective of his government is to improve quality education and maintain the integrity of Ghana’s examinations and assessment.

He noted that the Government is also working through WAEC, to bring new measures to curb exam malpractices and leakages.

“A key objective of our efforts to improve quality education is to maintain the integrity of our examinations and assessment. Government, working through WAEC, will bring new measures to curb exam malpractices and leakages. I’m happy to announce that the government facilitating 280,000 laptops for members of GNAT, NAGRAT and CCT this year”, Akufo-Addo told Parliament.
