The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said that Government has awarded a contract to some companies for the distribution of free WiFi coverage to all 722 SHSs, 46 Colleges of Education (CoEs), 16 Regional Offices, and 260 District Education Offices.
The NPP made this revelation in its 2020 Manifesto seeking for re-election on December 7, 2020.
The Party said the contract has been awarded to Private Companies.

Technology in the Teaching of Maths and Science
The NPP further indicated, that in fulfilment of its promise to Leverage technology to popularise the teaching of mathematics and science, technology has been incorporated in the curriculum and technology firms have been engaged to assist in delivery.

The Party said iBox education portal has been installed in 125 Senior High Schools.

Research and Innovation Fund
The NPP 2020 Manifesto further indicated, that in the fulfilment of its promise to establish a fund for research and innovation, a Research & Innovation Fund Bill has been gazetted and is expected to be laid before Parliament soon.
