As part of activities to mark the 63rd Independence anniversary parade, the Director-General of Ghana Education ServiceĀ (GES) held a reception for school contingents who were on parade today.

Speaking on behalf of the Director-General, Dr.K B Tandoh the Deputy Director General(Quality and Access) thanked and congratulated the staff and all contingents for availing themselves and fully participating in all the activities to mark the 63rd Anniversary.
Dr Tandoh encouraged the student to continue to do their best for their schools and the country at large.
He was also full of praise for the host Regional Director, Mrs Mary Owusu Afriyie and her team for a good job done on the planning and execution of all activities, including the inter-schools debate and quiz respectively.
Presentation of awards were made to contingents that excelled.
Yaa Asantewa won the Senior high school category and Danyame MA Basic school for the Basic school’s category.

The 1st to 3rd positions in each of the categories won Crystal Plaque and a cash prize.
The positions for the 63rd Independence Anniversary March past were as follows:
*JHS Division*
1st: Danyame Basic
2nd: Prempeh Basic B
3rd: TI Ahmadiyya Basic B

13 schools march past this year. Five SHS contingents and eight Basic schools
DGs reception is an annual event held after every March Past to congratulate students, staff etc.
Words of encouragement are shared to the students, Directors and staff present and awards also presented to 1st to 3rd contingents for the Basic and SHS divisions
