Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) has announced reopening dates, tuition payment requirements, registration procedures, and lecture commencement timelines for newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic year.

GCTU Reopens on January 6, 2026

The Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) has officially announced its reopening date and registration roadmap for newly admitted students ahead of the 2025/2026 academic year.According to the University, academic and administrative activities will resume on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, marking the start of the registration process for fresh students across all programmes.

Tuition Payment Requirements for Fresh Students

As part of the admission process, newly admitted students are required to:
  • Pay at least 50 percent of their tuition fees
  • Make payments at any Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) branch nationwide
After successful payment, students will automatically receive a login code via their registered phone number, which will grant access to the University’s Student Management System (SMS) portal.

Online Course Registration and Faculty Validation

Using the login credentials provided, students must:
  1. Log in to the SMS portal to complete online course registration
  2. Visit their respective Faculty Secretariats to finalise faculty-level registration
GCTU has clarified that hardcopy printouts are not required, as the entire process is digitally managed.

Timetable Release and Lecture Commencement Dates

The University has indicated that lecture timetables and class allocations will be communicated to students on or before February 9, 2026.Lecture start dates have been scheduled as follows:
  • Morning and Evening programmes: Monday, February 9, 2026
  • Weekend programmes: Saturday, February 14, 2026
Students are advised to monitor official communication channels for updates.
