Galaxy International School closed down over COVID-19 Crisis

Galaxy International School located in Accra has been closed down over the recent news of Coronavirus (COVAD-19) in Ghana.

In a statement issued by the school, there was an emergency meeting of the Board of Directors of Galaxy International School. Upon extensive deliberations and consideration of the views of all stakeholders, it was concluded that Galaxy International School would be temporarily closed down starting from March 16, 2020.

”However, this morning, there was an emergency meeting of the Board of Directors of Galaxy International School. Upon extensive deliberations and consideration of the views of all stakeholders, it was concluded that Galaxy International School would be temporarily closed down starting from March 16, 2020.”

The statement further indicated the school shall resume on April 14, 2020, after the Easter Break.

It also assured that E-learning instructions will start on March 18, 2020.
”Another message will be sent to you explaining how to receive online/ virtual learning materials.” It said.
Clarifications
The school, however, clarified assertions, that it has been connected to the Coronavirus victims.
”it was clarified that the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ghana are unconnected to Galaxy International School and that we would continue to intensify our preventive measures including the holding of a sensitisation conference and a review of the end of term exams schedules.”
”Subsequently, the reviewed time table was made available to all classes.

As of yesterday, the cases were new and the public health officials we consulted were of the view that we can continue to run the school while exercising the highest levels of precautionary measures.” It emphasised.

Ghana International School
Earlier, the management of Ghana International School closed down the school, on similar grounds.

According to a statement issued by the school, it has been closed down for two weeks starting Friday, March 13, 2020.

The students are expected to resume on the 27th of March,2020.
