Get ready for the 2024 NSMQ National Championship! With 100+ schools competing, the intellectual battle intensifies as the contest kicks off in October. Don’t miss the suspense and excitement as top schools vie for the prestigious NSMQ trophy.

 


The much-anticipated 2024 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) is just around the corner, and excitement is palpable as schools from across Ghana gear up for this prestigious intellectual battle. Known for sparking intense competition and national pride, the NSMQ continues to be a highlight in the academic calendar, drawing the best minds from more than 100 schools.

Schools Gear Up for the Big Stage

The 2024 edition of the NSMQ promises to be more thrilling than ever, with over 100 schools competing for the ultimate prize—the coveted NSMQ trophy and the honour of being crowned the nation’s best. Out of the fierce competition, 27 schools have already secured spots in the one-eighth stage, ensuring their place in the next round of this intense battle of wits.

The Centre for National Culture (CNC), the UCC Auditorium 900, and the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) Auditorium at the University of Cape Coast will be the battlegrounds for the preliminary and one-eighth stages. Here, students will go head-to-head in what promises to be an electrifying intellectual contest, showcasing the best of academic excellence and teamwork.

Key Dates to Watch

The launch of the 2024 NSMQ and the balloting for the preliminary stage will take place on October 1, 2024, at the New GNAT Hall in Accra, with proceedings kicking off at 3 p.m. This will set the stage for the preliminary rounds, scheduled from October 14 to October 17, where schools will face off in their bid to advance further in the competition.

Following the one-eighth stage, successful schools will progress to the quarter-final and semi-final stages, both held at the SGS Auditorium. The national championship will culminate in the highly anticipated grand finale at the New Education Centre (NEC), where the final three schools will battle for glory.
