CTVET Conducts Field Monitoring of 2025 Certificate II Examinations Across Upper West Region
As part of its quality assurance mandate, the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) has begun nationwide field monitoring of the ongoing 2025 May/June Certificate II Examinations, with a key focus on centres in the Upper West Region.
The Deputy Director General in charge of Corporate Services, Mr. Abdul-Rahman Zakaria, spearheaded the visits on Monday, June 30, and Wednesday, July 2, 2025, engaging with students, invigilators, and administrators to evaluate compliance and address operational concerns.
Exam Centres Visited
Mr. Zakaria’s monitoring tour included:
- St. Augustine Technical Institute, Nadowli
- St. John Institute, Nandom
- St. Basilide Technical Institute, Kaleo
These inspections form part of CTVET’s broader strategy to safeguard exam credibility, reinforce competency-based training standards, and ensure a seamless process for all stakeholders involved.
“Our commitment to technical and vocational excellence must reflect in every phase of the learning and certification journey,” Mr. Zakaria stated during his visit to Kaleo.

The Certificate II Examinations are designed to assess candidates in both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies across multiple trade areas, including welding, electrical engineering, automobile technology, hospitality, and ICT.
This nationally administered exam is a critical requirement for students completing TVET programmes in public and private institutions. It paves the way for:
