Colleges of Education Resumption Date Moved to February 9, 2026
The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education, Ghana (PRINCOF) has announced a rescheduling of the resumption date for all public Colleges of Education from January 19, 2026, to Monday, February 9, 2026, to allow adequate institutional preparation.
The decision, communicated to principals of public Colleges of Education, affects all teacher trainees and staff across the country and is intended to support a smooth start to the academic calendar.
PRINCOF Explains Reason for the Change
According to PRINCOF, the adjustment is aimed at ensuring that all necessary academic and administrative arrangements are fully completed ahead of reopening.
The leadership of PRINCOF noted that adequate preparation is essential for the effective delivery of teaching and learning, particularly within Ghana’s teacher education institutions, which operate under tight academic schedules.
Principals Directed to Inform Staff and Students
All principals have been instructed to inform their respective staff and students of the revised resumption date, enabling them to adjust their academic and personal plans accordingly.
PRINCOF acknowledged that the change may cause inconvenience but appealed for cooperation and understanding from all stakeholders within the Colleges of Education sector.
