Class captain beaten to death for writing ‘Names of Noisemakers’ In Class

A 7-year-old boy identified as Phestus Kalela has been confirmed dead after his angry classmates beat him up for writing their names on the noisemakers list.

The sad news was pronounced minutes after the boy was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

It was reported that the young boy sustained injuries from the mob attack by his classmates’ aged 8,7 and 6 respectively.

The deceased was brought in unconscious but died in the intensive care unit as efforts to resuscitate him were futile.

The district commissioner who described the incident as saddening wondered how children below the age of 10 could beat their peer to death.

It was further gathered that the boys who are below 10 have no case to answer, as they cannot be prosecuted under the Zambian law.
