BECE 2021: GES announces two months duration for Registration of School Candidates

The Ghaha Education Service has announced a two-month duration for the registration of candidates for the 2021 edition of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School candidates.

The GES in a letter dated March 12, 2021, to all regional education directors indicated, that the registration of BECE 2021 for school candidates will commence from 15th March to 14th May 2021.

Planned Briefing

The GES said the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) was unable t organize it’s planned briefing of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Examination Officers as well as IT Personnel due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation.

”In view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) could not organize its planned briefing of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Examination Officers as well as IT Personnel.” The GES said.

Way forward

The GES however indicated, that in order to ensure that the officials are adequately equipped to handle the registration process effectively and efficiently, the WAEC has prepared the enclosed material( audio/visual notes on BECE for School candidates, 2021 registration) and the Timelines of Key activities to facilitate the registration process.

1. Entry Period    ……………………..     15th March to 14th May 2021
2. Late Entry Period (Penalty 50% of Registration Fees) ……………… 17th to 31st May 2021
3. Corrections can be affected till 31st May 2021( Corrections on names and photographs should be referred to the nearest WAECi Office)……………..31ST May 2021
