EducationGhana, June 2, WASSCE: The Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwm on Monday, 31st May 2021, presented citations to 12 Senior High Schools in the Ashanti region for excelling in the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
The citations went to the 10 % out of the 135 SHS in the Ashanti region who scored the highest marks cumulatively in eight subjects from A1 to C6.

The presentation which took place at the Golden Beam Hotel was aimed at motivating the schools to continue working hard to improve their fortunes and the development of the nation’s human manpower resources.
In attendant were headmasters of SHS, Managers of Education Units, some teachers, students, and other stakeholders in the education sector.
Currently, the top-performing school in the Ashanti region per the criteria is Tepa SHS followed by Saint Louis, Toase SHS, Kumasi High, Ghana Muslim Mission SHS, and Prempeh College.

The rest who were all decorated at the ceremony are Wesley Girls, TI Amass, Opoku Ware School, Pentecost SHS, Mankranso SHS, and Osei Adutwum SHS.
After the presentation ceremony, he inspected some ongoing projects at the Kumasi Anglican SHS and later commissioned a girls dormitory at Sakafia Islamic School.
