Accra College of Education gets three-storey lecture block

PRINCIPALS

Dr Samuel Awinkene Atintono, Principal of the Accra College of Education, has commended government for a three-storey lecture block being constructed for the College through funds from the Ghana Education Trust Fund.

He said the three-story lecture facility, when completed, would ameliorate the infrastructural deficit of the College and improve academic work with the increasing numbers in enrolment.

Dr Atintono made the commendation when Madam Lydia Seyram Alhassan, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, visited the school to ascertain its preparedness ahead of the resumption of final year students.

He said as a result of the introduction of the four-year Bachelor of Education programme by the College, there had been an increase in enrolment, which required the provision of more facilities to complement already existing ones.

He called for assistance in the general infrastructural development of the College including the provision of hostel facilities to accommodate the growing numbers of students.

Madam Alhassan commended the Management of the College, especially tutors, for their commitment to support students during this period of COVID-19. She said the importance of education to human and national development could not be over-emphasized.
