The 2024 BECE school placement results are set to be released on October 26 or 27, 2024. Learn about the new placement portals, registration, and orientation dates for students reporting to their schools on October 30.

Students who sat for the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) can expect the much-anticipated Computerized School Placement results to be released on either Saturday, October 26, or Sunday, October 27, 2024, according to Kwasi Kwarteng, Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Education. The announcement aims to prepare students and parents for the next steps in the academic journey.

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM,   Kwarteng assured the public that measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth placement process. He explained that the October 30, 2024 date for students to report to their second-cycle schools serves as a preparation period, rather than the start of full academic activities.

“I am very certain that hopefully, by the weekend, we should get the second cycle school placement results out,” he stated. “The fact that we are opening school does not necessarily mean that students are going to start full academic activities on October 30.”

Registration and Orientation Period

The Ministry of Education spokesperson clarified that the October 30 date allows students to visit their respective schools for registration and other preparatory processes. This initial period will include a two-week orientation to help students familiarize themselves with the school environment before the commencement of full academic activities.

New Portal for Placement Results Checking

In a bid to make the checking of school placements more accessible, the Ministry of Education has launched a new Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal. In addition to the official government portal https://cssps.gov.gh, students can also check their placement results onhttps://cssps.org.

The introduction of this secondary portal comes as part of efforts to increase bandwidth and reduce downtime issues that typically occur during peak traffic times on the main CSSPS website. This move aims to ensure a seamless experience for the large number of students and parents who will be accessing the platform.

Placement for Over 569,000 Candidates

The National Coordinator for CSSPS, Mark Sasu, has indicated that more than 569,000 candidates will be processed for the 2024 computerized Senior High School (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) placement. The candidates include 282,703 males and 286,533 females from 19,505 Junior High Schools (JHS) nationwide.

The placement process will cater to four categories of students: regular students, private candidates, foreign students, and re-entry candidates, with all placements expected to be finalized by Monday, October 28, 2024.

The Ministry of Education has assured that the placement system will be fair and transparent, providing every qualified candidate with an equal opportunity for admission to their preferred schools.
