The University of Southampton strengthens its partnership with GETFund Ghana, pledging increased support and collaboration to benefit Ghanaian students.

The University of Southampton has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening educational collaboration with Ghana through deeper engagement with the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).
High-Level Delegation Visits Accra
A two-member delegation from the university, led by Emma Schlesinger, Regional Head for Africa and the Middle East, and Nadia Gabr, International Recruitment Manager for Africa, paid a working visit to the GETFund Secretariat in Accra.
They were received by Hon. Alhassan Sualihu Dandaawa, Deputy Administrator of GETFund, for discussions centred on sustaining and enhancing support for Ghanaian students seeking higher education opportunities abroad.
Support for Ghanaian Scholars
During the meeting, the University of Southampton lauded GETFund’s contribution to international education and reiterated its commitment to Ghana as a key recruitment hub in Africa.
The university confirmed ongoing agreements with GETFund, which include tuition fee discounts, tailored student support, and pathways to academic excellence for Ghanaian beneficiaries.
“Ghana remains one of our most important recruitment destinations in Africa,” said Ms Schlesinger.
“We are here to build on our strong foundation and ensure that Ghanaian scholars have access to quality education and long-term success.”
