University of Education (UEW) Graduates 16,489 at 24th Congregation

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has graduated a total of 16,489 students at its 24^th Congregation ceremonies held from Thursday, 17^th to Saturday, 26^th October, 2019 at the Winneba, Asante-Mampong and Kumasi Campuses of the University.

Winneba and Ajumako Campuses graduated 9,005 students representing 55% whereas a total of 1,569 students representing 9% graduated from Asante-Mampong Campus while Kumasi Campus ended the ceremony with 5,915 graduates representing 36%.

On Thursday, 17^th October, a total of 3,368 students from the Faculties of Science Education, Social Sciences Education, Ghanaian Languages Education and School of Business graduated at the Winneba Campus.

The Winneba Campus also saw a total of 3,036 students graduating from the Faculties of Educational Studies and Foreign Languages Education and Communication as well as the University’s Institute for Distance and e-Learning (IDeL) Centres of Accra Academy, Accra College of Education, Accra Wesley Girls, St. John’s Grammar, Asamankese, Assin Fosu, Axim, Dambai and Hohoe on Friday, 18^th October.

The Winneba Campus sessions ended on Saturday, 19^th October, with a total of 2,601 students from the School of Graduate Studies, School of Creative Arts and the IDeL Study Centres of Cape Coast, Denu, Ho, Koforidua, Odumasi Krobo, Sekondi, Tarkwa, Sogakope, Tema, Winneba and Kasoa graduating.

Asante-Mampong Campus took its turn on Thursday, 24^th October, and graduated a total of 1,569 students from the Faculties of Agricultural Education, Science and Environment Education, the School of Graduate Studies and IDeL Study Centres at Atebubu, Ejisu, Techiman and Mampong.

Friday, 25^th October saw a total of 2,765 students from the IDeL Study Centres of Tamale BATCO, Tamale NOBISCO, Navrongo, Wa, Yendi, Pusiga, Bechem, Enchi, Kumasi Girls, Kumasi UEW, Nkawkaw, Obuasi, Ofinso, Sefwi Wiawso, Sefwi Debiso and Sunyani presented with Diploma and First Degrees at the Kumasi Campus. The Faculties of Technical Education, Vocational Education, Education and Communication Sciences, Business Education and the School of Graduate Studies at Kumasi graduated a total of 3,150 students on Saturday, 26^th October, 2019.

The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni admonished the graduands to make their alma mater proud by positively impacting society. “As you step into the world of work, I encourage you to be innovative in supporting government to create jobs for many young people out there. Keep in touch with your colleagues, the Faculty and above all the University. Join the Alumni Association and do not forget to give back to your Alma Mater. I am confident in your capacity to overcome prospective challenges out there. I urge you to contribute meaningfully to the development of the institutions you find yourselves in.”
