EducationGhana| June 22| Teacher Unions to announce Strike Action on July 5:
Teacher Unions in the Ghana Education Service (GES) are expected to do a joint press conference on July 5, 2022, to officially declare a nationwide strike.
This was contained in a statement issued at a National Executives Council (NEC) meeting of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT).
The 17th June 2022 NEC meeting indicated that All Regional Chairmen are to organize a press conference to press the government to respond to our call on COLA.
”As a union, we do not have any choice but to advise ourselves.” The NAGRAT said.
JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE
”On the 5th July 2022. there will be a joint press conference by teacher unions to declare a strike if the government fails to meet our demands.” They emphasized.
”We are urging all our institutional reps to make sure that every member will be part of the strike action by looking at the economic hardship and challenges members are going through in recent times.”

22nd June 2022. Central -Northern
23rd June 2022. Western -Upper West
24th June 2022. Eastern -Brong-Ahafo
