Poetry: COVID-19 – What Type of Year Is It?

CORONA VIRUS (COVID 19)

what type of year is it
And the type of message circulates
Eyes have seen and already ears heard
Doctors and experts crack brains but all in vain
Hmmm, what a calamity!

COVID  your name is scarily terrifying
Your pace as swift as electricity current
From ones to hundred and to thousands
Calamity, what a calamity!
You ravage the immune system beyond repairs

Check This Out:  “Bosiako; the Bloodbath”, a new masterpiece of Ghanaian poetry

When HE planted the seed  far at China
Many doubted its viability in Africa
Italy cried Americans wailed
But if you cannot  see the tears of others
It does not mean they do not cry

When the messenger bird scream
The masses  cannot turn death ears
Majority succumb to the unavoidable and irresistible call
Hmmm! man is in a state of bewilderment
Are we surrendering or are we persevering

What type of year is it?
2019 is the name
The clouds gathered this year
Though it rains and creates gullies in 2020
It washes away billions of the World’s assets

Calamity! what a calamity
It creates gullies and vacuum
Gardeners who nurse plants begin   to fear them
Plants ‘ survival now depends on HIM
Prayer is the only antidote to this calamity.
