The Ghana Education Service (GES) has called on all from 3 Senior High Schools as well as Technical School Students to observe their mid-term break on campus due to the upsurge of COVID-19 in the country.
The GES in a letter darted July 19, 2021 and signed by its Deputy Director General in charge of Qualirty and Assurance, Dr Kwabena Sempah Tandoh to all regional directors of education, indicated a changein the earlier directive.
The GES said its decision to allow students observe the mid-term break on campus was in a response to a directive from the Ghana Health Serrvice 9GHS0 on the need to prevent students from moving out of the campuses due toithe current upsuege of COVUID-19 in Schools and the public.
The GES said the restriction was for only Students who have been housed in boarding schools.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) earlier informed all Heads of Senior Schools that all form 3 students are permitted to go on Mid Semester break from Tuesday, July 20 to Sunday, July 25, 2021.

Resumption of Academic Work
The GES in a letter dated July 16, 2021, and signed by its Deputy Director-General in charge of Quality and Assurance, Dr Kwamena Bempah Tandoh to all regional directors of education, indicated, that Academic work shall resume on Monday, July 26, 2021.

GHS directive
The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has directed the Ghana Education Service (GES) to restrict Form 3 SHS /SHT students in the Boarding Schools from moving to their homes for their intended Mid-term break.
The GHS in a letter dated July 19, 2021, to the GES on its intended midterm break for the form 3 students, indicated, that in the midst of the current outbreak of COVID-19 in the country, the mid-term break may present a challenge to the already precarious situation of COVID-19in schools and in the general population.
The GHS added, that the break may also present challenges to the existing outbreaks in schools.
