Winners of 2018 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz, St. Peters Boys SHS are on a quest to defending the title.

The Roman Catholic boys’ school in the Eastern region were a handful for their counterparts, Apam SHS and Drobo SHS Saturday.

They scored 55 points against 40 and 24 by Apam SHS and Drobo SHS, respectively in their one-eighth contest at the UGBS Auditorium.

The only school to have successfully defended their title in the history of the 26-year-old competition, is Presby Boys’ SHS, Legon in 2009 after they won it the year earlier.

With that comfortable victory, Persco, the reigning champions have thus set themselves in motion to equal that feat.

Cental region-based Apam SHS, who started the contest well, lost their steam in the fourth and fifth rounds after an impressive third round performance.

They would have to go through the regional contest to book their place next year.
