Private Schools in the country are being permitted to have a mutual agreement with the various district education directorates for the purpose of training their teachers on the new standard based curriculum.
The Director General of the Ghana Education Service,Prof. Kwesi Opoku Amankwa said this in an interview with Neat Fm on Tuesday,August 20,2019 in Accra.
The Director General said the Private Schools have groups that manage their affairs,of which some of the groups met with the National Council for Curriculum Assessment (NaCCA).
About one hundred and thirty master trainers from private schools converged at the Ghana Atomic Energy Agency on 24th July 2019 for a five-day training on the revised KG – Primary Six curriculum starting in all schools from September 2019.
The master trainers were drawn from Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS), the Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACoPS), West Africa Montessori Association (WAMA) and the Federation for Educational Research & Development (FERD) across the country.
Prof. Kwesi Opoku Amankwa said private schools that do not belong to such groups can liaise with their respective district education directorates to train their teachers .
