JUST IN: Newly Trained Teachers to be Posted after Undergoing Training on the New Curriculum – GES Boss

Newly trained teachers who successfully passed their Teacher Licensure Examination and completed their National Service shall be taken through the New Standard Based Curriculum before being posted to the public Basic Schools.

The purpose of the training is to prepare them for the changes in the basic school curriculum before sending them to the classrooms to teach.

The Director General of the Ghana Education Service,Prof. Kwesi Opoku Amankwa said this in an interview on Neat Fm,an Accra based radio station on Tuesday,August 20,2019.

” After their National Service which ends around September based on when they actually began,we shall take them through some training on the New Standard Based Curriculum for them to understand the curriculum well”

”Moreover, for them to complete their National Service and also be taken through the New Standard Based Curriculum, i believe we should be around December, then we can now post them into the classrooms to teach” He said.

Prof. Amankwa explained that unlike the old system where newly trained teachers were being posted directly after College, the new system expects them to pass a licensure exam and also complete their NSS before postings.

  1. please i want to know the time limit concerning the training of the new base curriculum to the newly trained teachers. There is an information circulating that these newly teachers would posted somewhere December instead of September. This is because they have to be taking through training on the newly based curriculum for them to adapt the system. I think this is a perfect submission.but my suggestion on is that I think if they are to be posted on September and after that giving them the training before classes are assign to them. The newly trained teachers have through after they completed school so if they are posted now i believe they will be happy enough. i will end here and i hope my suggestion would be considered. thank you.
