The Ghana Education Service (GES)  has condemned the increasing physical attacks on teachers across the country.

The GES said it has acknowledge its primary  responsibility to  ensure the safety of its employees.

The Education Service has said that it shall withdraw the services of teachers from unsafe communities.

The GES indicated in a statement on May 20,2019  that it shall work with the leaders of their school communities.

The Education Service believes working with the community leaders shall help safeguard the safety of teachers.

The statement of the GES comes in response to recent attacks of teachers which resulted to deaths in some cases.

Notable among such deaths is the killing of George Somuah Bosompem, the 57-year-old tutor of Asiakwa Salvation Army Basic School.

According to the GES, it shall liaise with the Regional and District Security Councils to ensure the safety of Teachers.
