The Ghana Education Service has received financial clearance to pay the salaries of 6,249 teachers recruited in 2024, ensuring their placement on the mechanised payroll ahead of November 2025.

Financial Clearance Granted for Outstanding 2024 Recruits

The Ghana Education Service has announced the receipt of financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance to begin salary payments for the remaining 6,249 teachers recruited in 2024. The approval marks an important step toward resolving delays faced by newly appointed staff awaiting placement on the mechanised payroll.

According to the GES, the clearance provides immediate authorisation for the processing of all outstanding salaries, allowing the Service to complete administrative steps needed to finalise payments.

Clearance Valid Until December 31, 2025

Although the financial clearance is set to expire on December 31, 2025, management has assured teachers that all necessary procedures will be completed well in advance. The statement notes that every newly recruited teacher under this category will be placed on the mechanised payroll in time for the November 2025 salary cycle.

The announcement comes as welcome news for affected teachers, many of whom have been working without pay while awaiting validation.

GES Appreciates Teachers’ Patience and Dedication

Management expressed gratitude to all staff for their patience and continued dedication during the clearance period. The Service reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring accuracy and timeliness in salary payment processes across all regions.

The Public Relations Unit emphasised that the organisation remains focused on improving administrative efficiency and addressing outstanding payroll concerns affecting new entrants into the teaching profession.
