The Management of the University of Ghana (UG) has said international students can return to their home country following the closure of the university as part of moves to forestall the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The government of Ghana ordered the closure of all schools and universities as the country has recorded six cases of COVID-19.

A statement by the management on Tuesday, March 17 said: “Due to global threat of COVID-19, the government of Ghana’s directive, the University of Ghana is closed until further notice.
“This means all international members of our community are permitted to return to their home countries with the exception of anyone who has any symptoms of the common cold.
“Such students should first be examined and cleared by the UG Health Services before they can leave.”
The government has also placed a four-week ban on all social gatherings in the country.
