COVID-19: 13 persons identified through contact tracing in Central Region

The Central Regional Health Directorate has identified 13 persons who came into contact with the 52-year old man who tested positive for the Coronavirus in the Central Region.

According to the Central Regional Health Director, Dr Akosua Owusu Sarpong, those persons have been asked to self-isolate.

She told the media on Wednesday that the directorate has also identified a place to quarantine those living with families in small apartments.

The Central Region on Wednesday recorded its first case of the Coronavirus.

The patient is said to have travelled to the United Kingdom and returned to Ghana on March 17, 2020.

Ghana on Wednesday recorded 26 new cases, bringing the total number to 313.

The country has also recorded another death, bringing the total number of deaths to 6.

The Greater Accra Region has the highest number of cases, 274; followed by the Ashanti and Northern Regions with 25 and 10 cases respectively.

The Upper West Region, Eastern Region, Upper East Region and Central Region have a case each.
