Jan 2020: Ashesi Uni,Regent University College and Garden City make it to Top 3 Private Unis in Ghana

Ashesi University has overtaken Garden City University College to become the best privately-owned tertiary institution in the country; according to the January 2020 edition of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.

Last year, Ashesi University was ranked second, behind Kumasi-based Garden City University College.

Garden City University College is now ranked third with Regent University College of Science & Technology taking second place.

Indicators used for the ranking by Webometrics were Presence, Impact, Openness, and Excellence.

The objectives of the Webometrics Ranking of the World’s Universities is to promote web publication, supporting open access initiatives and electronic access to scientific publications and other academic materials.

According to Webometrics, below are the top 10 privately-owned tertiary institutions in the country;

1. Ashesi University

2. Regent University College of Science & Technology

3. Garden City University College

4. Presbyterian University College

5. Valley View University

6. African University College of Communications

7. Central University

8. Methodist University College Ghana

9. Wisconsin International University College Ghana

10. Regional Maritime University
