Salary negotiation for minimum wage and base pay scheduled for April 2021

The Joint Standing Negotiating Committee (JSNC) has scheduled April 2021 for Salary negotiation for minimum wage and base pay.

The budget read by Government at the latter part of last year,2020, was to take care of the transitional period after the General Elections and that budget covers the first quarter of 2021 (ie Jan to March 2021).

The last budget was read before the General Elections, the budget was silent on salary increases or otherwise.

Setbacks from Covid-19 Pandemic

One other issue considered by the meeting of the Committee (JSNC) was the setbacks from the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy ( reduction in productivity, revenue generation, etc.).

In summary, no increase or otherwise has yet been determined for public sector workers since there had not been any Negotiation on same.
