NDC to extend Complementary Basic Education to Market Women, Head Porters, Labourers and Drivers

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said it shall raise levels of numeracy, literacy, self-esteem and responsible citizenship by extending opportunities to market women, commercial drivers, labourers and head porters ‘kayayei’ through an extended Complementary Basic Education based on more flexible school hours.

The NDC made this revelation in its 2020 Manifesto known as the ‘People’s Manifesto’, saying it shall look forward to its implementation when voted into power in December 2020.

School Entry age

The NDC said it shall create opportunities for out of school children to receive an education while encouraging the application of the right entry age to school.

Private Sector Involvement

The NDC said it shall encourage the private sector to invest in preschools and recreational facilities for their workers.

The party added, that it shall ensure quality learning through the allocation of teachers, improved pedagogy, appropriate learning spaces, provision of teaching and learning materials and effective supervision, and motivation and support of teachers.
