JUST IN: Inactive Bank NaBCo Recruit Victims to hit the Street over 7-Month Unpaid Arrears

NabCo Recruits who who are victims of collapsed banks have threatened to hit the street over alleged Unpaid arrears.

The group in a statement issued on August 20,2019 expressed its decision to hit the streets on August 23,2019 if the authorities did not respond to their needs as expected.

Read Statement Below:

This release has become inevitable due to the unfair treatment meted to us by NABCO secretariat since the interception of this laudable program.

On 30th May 2019, trainees were asked to change their E-zwich cards through SMS as a result of the banking sector clean- up by Bank of Ghana. Affected trainees quickly went to the nearest banks to get new E-zwich cards and subsequently updated their portals.

On June 3rd and June 7th, the secretariat sent us messages stating that our outstanding January and Febuary stipend is being processed for payment respectively and we shall be alerted via SMS once payment is done. Per the message, one can confidently deduce that the E-zwich problem has been solved.

Since then, we have not receive any pesewa from the secretariat and all effort to get the matter resolve through our coordinators and the secretariat have proved futile. Affected trainees have taken this to be a breach of contractual agreement between trainees and the secretariat as it is stated vividly in our engagement letters that we are entitle to Monthly stipend of Ghs 700.

The most devastating part of it is that trainees can no longer bear the hardship of affording their daily expenses including transportation to and from their work places.

We therefore, wish to state with this communiqué without any equivocation that if by Thursday 22nd August 2019 our E-zwich are not credited with our duly worked for stipend, we shall hit the street on Friday 23rd August 2019 to register our displeasure to the president and the general public.
