Expedite Processes to employ 2018 Newly Trained Teachers – TTAG to GES

Leadership of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) is calling on the Ghana Education Service (GES) to expedite processes to employ 2018 Newly Trained Teachers.

In a statement issued on August 27,2019 ,the leadership said it has all the possible assurance that the 2018 Newly Trained Teachers shall be posted in September to begin work.

“As af as TTAG and Newly Trained Teachers are concerned,employment of 2018 Newly Trained Teachers would be out by September 2019.” The statement said.

Appreciation

The leadership of TTAG expressed its appreciation to the Minister for Education ,Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh for his commitment to employn 2018 graduates from the Colleges of Education who have successfully passed their licensure examination and have gone through the National Service as Teachers.

Caution

The Leadership thereby cautioned the 2018 newly trained teachers to be cautious of unconfirmed messages vacillating on social media.

Director General on Postings

Contrary to the hope of the leadership of the teachers trainees on September Postings, the Director General of the Ghana Education Service ,Prof. Kwesi Opoku Amankwa said Newly trained teachers who successfully passed their Teacher Licensure Examination and completed their National Service shall be taken throughthe New Standard Based Curriculum before being posted to the public Basic Schools.

The purpose of the training according to him, is to prepare them for the changes in the basic school curriculum before sending them to the classrooms to teach.

The Director General of the Ghana Education Service,Prof. Kwesi Opoku Amankwa said this in an interview on Neat Fm,an Accra based radio station on Tuesday,August 20,2019.

” After their National Service which ends around September based on when they actually began,we shall take them through some training on the New Standard Based Curriculum for them to understand the curriculum well”

Moreover,for them to complete their National Service and also be taken through the New Standard Based Curriculum, i believe we should be around December,then we can now post them into the classrooms to teach” He said.
