Eligibility

The Award is open to all teachers who have taught for five (5) years and teach children who are between the ages of four to eighteen. It is open to teachers in every kind of school and subject in the Madina constituency

Selection criteria

Applications for the Madina MP’s Teachers Award will be judged based on a rigorous set of criteria to identify a meritorious teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to the teaching profession:

 The final judging committee will look for evidence of:

1. Recommendation of a teacher’s achievements in the classroom and beyond from pupils, colleagues, headteachers and members of the wider community

2. Using innovative and effective instructional practices that are replicable and scalable

3. Demonstrable student learning outcomes in the classroom

4.  Ensuring children receive value-based education that prepares them to be a global citizens in the world such as promoting exchange programs students (Excursion)

5. Achievements attained in the community beyond the classroom such as the recipient of some community awards

6. Contributing debates to the teaching profession by whether through writing articles, books, media participation, social media campaign and so on.

7. Professional competence. This includes quality delivery of service to individuals and assessment of academic personalities

8. Personality factors such as social, moral, emotional, spiritual treats that give positive manifestations of the applicant.

9. Contribution to the community

About the Award

The Madina EDUScheme in the Office of the Member of Parliament for Madina Constituency through the Education Directorate of the Madina Municipality has opened applications and nominations for the teachers in the Madina constituency to apply for the MP’s Teachers Award 2021

The Award is opened to Ghanaian teachers in pre-tertiary schools (both public and private).

Interested applicants should apply for the Basic level category and for the Senior high schools’ category

All applicants are expected to adhere strictly to the attached selection criteria. The deadline for application is 19th November 2021.
