Education Ministry issues ”Toll Free Numbers” and ”Short Codes” to help address Problems in Senior High Schools

The Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Ghana Education Service (GES) have introduced toll free numbers and short codes to help address problems of Senior High Schools in the Country.

The Secondary Education Improvement Project (SEIP) Is A World Bank support to the Government of Ghana in the form of a loan to improve secondary education in the Country.

The Project Development Objectives (PDO’s) of SEIP is improving access to secondary education in underserved districts and improving quality in some low-performing senior high schools (SHS’s).

In order to ensure that implementation bottlenecks are promptly addressed, the project has put in place a Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM).

The GRM is to provide an avenue for all beneficiary stakeholders of the project; student, teachers, parents, community members, opinion leaders etc. to air their grievances for quick resolution by officers specially trained to address any issues raised.

The stakeholders log their grievances through SMS or E-mail and toll free numbers;the grievances are logged on a dashboard and the specially trained officers forward the grievances to the appropriate officers; the feedback is sent to the trained officer who send it to the stakeholders via SMS E-mails.
