Accra Girls’ SHS Covid-19 Patients can go about their Studies because they are Asymptomatic – GES Director General

The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa has indicated that the calls for all schools to be closed down following the recording of cases in some schools is not necessary.

He disclosed this at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 and also indicated that the students in Accra Girls’ SHS can go on with their studies because they are asymptomatic.

Speaking at the press conference, he said: “It is best we keep them in schools because if we decide to let them go home, then we might as well close down the whole country”. “From what we have been told, they are asymptomatic, so, they are able to go about their studies,”
