Ferdinand | EducationGhana | June 13 |“Watch Your Mouths” as Teachers to Promote Professionalism – Edu. Director
The District Director of Education at the Awutu Senya West District Education Directorate, Mr Isaac Godwin Kwasi Acquah-Arhin has urged all Teachers to “Watch Their Mouths” to Promote Professionalism as Teachers.
He was reposted from the Asikuma- Odoben Abrakwa Education Directorate to the Awutu Senya West Directorate.
Speaking at his familiarisation visit to the Teachers at the Obrachire Circuit today (Wednesday), the District Director explain that for teachers to exhibit Professionalism at their workplaces and beyond, they need to know what they say and at what time.
According to him, as Teachers, it was important to be careful about what they say, most especially before the Pupils.
He emphasized that the Teachers are being seen as the best source of factual information by both the Pupils and the Community in which they might find themselves, and as such should do away with the use of VULGAR language such as Swearing in every little unforeseen circumstance before the Pupils.
He also advised Teachers to desist from insulting the Pupils in the course of their duties, as this may deter the pupils from having an interest in the class lessons.
Mr Isaac advised teachers to desist from other unprofessional behaviours such as fighting and shouting and should also complain less on matters.
The Education Director spoke about the cordial relationship among teachers as a professional behaviour that should be encouraged.
He later urged the Teachers to work together to help promote Teaching and Learning in their Schools.
Speaking to EducationGhana.net after the meeting, the Teachers show their satisfaction with his ideologies and promised to work together to achieve the objectives and set goals of the District
Meanwhile, the Circuit Supervisor of the Obrachire Circuit, Mrs Euginea Asiedu was given unanimous applause by all the Teachers for her active participation in the affairs of the teachers and pupils in the Circuit.
Described as a mother of the circuit, Mrs Ophelia Asiedu also promised her support to promote the works of all Teachers in the Circuit.
