WASSCE 2022: Police begin investigations into 23 suspected impersonations

EducationGhana| September 18| WASSCE 2022: Police begin investigations into 23 suspected impersonations

The Ghana Police Service has commenced an investigation into twenty-three (23) suspected impersonators in the ongoing 2022 WASSCE from six (6) Senior High Schools.

A statement issued by WAEC on impersonation has confirmed that details of 23 suspected impersonators have been handed over to the police for a thorough investigation of alleged examination malpractices.

WAEC, in its earlier update, mentioned that impersonation cases are on the increase in this year’s WASSCE for School Candidates.

This, according to WAEC is a worrying phenomenon because this is a school examination and school authorities should be able to identify their candidates.

As of Friday, 16th September 2022, a total of 23 suspected impersonation cases from the following schools have been reported to the police for investigation:

1. Vicar Trust SHS, Kasoa  – 3

2. John SHS, Asante Bekwai  – 2

3. Winners SHS, Nkawkaw  –  1

4. Sunyani Business College  –  1

5. Mococo SHS, Nkawkaw  –  1

6. Prince Boateng SHS, Nsawam – 15
