“The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been honoured with the 2023 Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management (CISCM) West Africa Excellence Award. The award recognizes UCC for its commitment to providing world-class tertiary education, offering diverse education programs, and achieving notable global rankings in research and academic excellence.”

 

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been bestowed with the 2023 Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management (CISCM) West Africa Excellence Award at a Recognition and dinner night held in Accra. The theme of the event was “Integrated Supply Chain Management: A Catalyst for Development.”

The award ceremony recognized and celebrated 31 individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to local content development and sustainable growth through integrated supply chain management practices. UCC received the prestigious award for various reasons, as highlighted in the accompanying citation.

Citation Excerpt:

“This recognition has been conferred on the University of Cape Coast based on the following reasons: The provision of world-class tertiary education to more than 80,000 students from Ghana, West African sub-region, and beyond.

Delivery of over 200 education programs covering the award of diploma certificates to doctorate (PhD) degrees. Your ranking as the best university in Ghana and West Africa by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

Your ranking as one of the best universities globally in terms of research by the Times World Higher Education World University Ranking.”

The Provost of the College of Humanities and Legal Studies, Prof. Kwame Osei Kwarteng, received the award on behalf of UCC at the ceremony, which included the presentation of shields and citations to the awardees.

Mr. Paul-Victor Avudzivi, Chairman of the CISCM Recognition & Dinner Night 2023, emphasized that the event aimed to reward excellence and promote the growth of the country, sub-region, continent, and the world through integrated supply chain management and practice.

The President of CISCM, Richard Okrah, commended the awardees for their achievements, urging them to continue making significant strides in their respective endeavours. The recognition night is an annual awards ceremony designed to acknowledge excellence in the preceding year, with a scope covering the national, sub-regional, and continental levels.
