Undoubtedly, almost every student in the University aims at graduating with a first class degree in whatever program they are studying.

Believe it or not, regardless of the program, it is difficult to graduate with such honours.

The first class degree spot appears to be one which has been dominated by men over the years, but in the University of Ghana law school, some four ladies have proven their mettle.

Meet Abena, Lydia, Parella and Hamida who are with the graduating Law Faculty class of 2019.

This class, over the weekend, made history by producing as many a five students who bowed out of the nation’s premier university with first class honours in Law.

This is the highest number of persons to be graduating with first class honours since the Law Faculty became a full fledged school in the 2014/15 academic year.

Out of the five, four are women.

All five first class students, with Richard Dwamena Boampong, being the one male among them, received a cash award of $500 each from Lawyer Kimathi Kuenyehia and, Kimathi and Partners.

Here’s what you need to know about our four ladies of the moment.
