UEW UTAG SSA-UoG have called off their strike
UTAG-UEW MEMBERS RESOLVE TO CONTINUE WITH THE WITHDRAWAL OF TEACHING AND OTHER RELATED ACTIVITIES- 15th August 2021.
An emergency meeting was held today Sunday 15th August 2021 at the local level to update members of UTAG-UEW about the options on the table based on advice from UTAG’s lawyers.

UTAG-LEW resolved and unanimously rejected the proposal by our lawyers advising NEC to issue a joint statement with the government to announce the suspension of the industrial action as a condition for the withdrawal of the court action instituted against UTAG by the National Labor Commission subsequent to which negotiations between UTAG and the government side will resume.

Members further resolved to bear all the consequences that come with the continued withdrawal of teaching and related services until the government takes a more serious progressive and proactive position on the demands of UTAG.

Members advised NEC not to succumb to any pressure, threat or intimidation from the government or its representatives intended to coerce UTAG to suspend the ongoing industrial action.

UTAG-UEW is of the firm conviction that this is the only golden opportunity for us to assert our role as a formidable and indispensable force to reckon with within the labour space.

The general membership of UTAG-UEW, thus, expressed their unwavering support for th NEC and urged the leadership to pursue the matter to its logical conclusion.
