The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has commissioned a five-storey block of flats at its North Campus, Winneba.
The building contains ten number three-bedroom apartments fully air-conditioned, central staircase and a lift with each apartment consisting of a master bedroom, living area, dining area, study area, furnished kitchen with store, two terraces, bio-fill installation, water storage facility and parking space for about 25 cars.
The project, funded with Internally Generated Funds (IGF) at the total cost of GHC 6,231,860.51, was commissioned by the Chairman of the Governing Council of UEW, Prof. Obeng Mireku.
The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni charged the potential beneficiaries to cultivate a culture of maintenance to ensure that the facility remains in good condition for posterity.

Present at the function were Members of the Governing Council, the Ag. Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ruby Hanson; Principals of Colleges, Faculty Members, Administrators and students among others.
The function also saw splendid renditions by the Department of Music Education of the School of Creative Arts and UEW Air Force Cadet Corp.
