UCC to offer Scholarships to Needy but Brilliant Students From 2020/2021 Academic Year

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) shall from the 2020/21 Academic year begins to offer scholarships to needy but brilliant students of the University.

The University’s Students Representatives Council (SRC) made this revelation in a statement issued on July 23, 2020.

According to the SRC, as part of its quest to promote transparency and fairness, the SRC has included the Students’ Emergency Relief Fund (SERF) and the Students’ Welfare Assistance Fund (SWAF) to form part of the source of funds for the Support Office which will enable equal access to all deserving students, therefore from the 2020/2021 academic year these SRC funds would no longer exist under the office of the SRC.

The Council added, that the Support Office will soon open applications for this scholarship for the 2020/2021 academic year, and encouraged all students who would be in financial need to take full advantage of this great opportunity.

‘We wish to announce for the information of all students that the University has launched a scholarship scheme under the Students’ Financial Support Office, which will cater for needy but brilliant/promising students.” The council said.

”The SRC also wishes to inform all students that all JCRCs, as well as GRASAG, have contributed substantial amounts of their income to form part of the source of funds for the scholarship scheme, hence the need for all students to take advantage of this opportunity.”

”The SRC shall assist students with the application of this scholarship in all necessary ways once applications are opened. Students’ interest before any other considerations.” It said.
