UCC Provost responds to UCC Distance Students’ cry over allegedly difficult Examination

FEE 20 UCC COLLEGE FACE SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS

Some Diploma and Post Diploma Distance Education Students of the University of Cape Coast College of Distance Education (CoDE), have taken to social media for what they describe as difficult questions being set by the Academic Board as their end of Semester Examination.

In an interview with GBC’s Correspondent Emmanuel Akayeti in Bolgatanga, the Provost, College of Distance Education, Professor Isaac Galyuon said, it came to him as a surprise that University Students will resort to social media to address academic issues rather than using the laid down procedures of the College in resolving them.

He admits that some students have written to his office, and therefore social media is not the best approach to addressing examinations or any other academic-related issues.

Professor Galyuon said questions are normally set based on the content of the modules and cross-checked by the academic board to ensure standards.

The Provost stressed that it is not in the interest of any academic institution to set questions outside the curricular with the aim of failing its own students.
